OUR MISSION


The Sales and Marketing Council serves the Building Industry of Southeastern Michigan by providing educational programs, networking opportunities and recognition for new home sales and marketing professionals.

Knowledge is Power:
The SMC offers numerous educational opportunities for sales and marketing professionals. We present national certification courses such as; Certified Sales Professional, a comprehensive new home sales training program. We also offer Institute of Residential Marketing (IRM) along with quarterly meetings on relevant topics like Selling to the CAPS Generation, Designing to Sell and much more.


As part of your SMC membership you also become a member of the National Sales and Marketing Council through the National Association of Homebuilders. This entitles you to numerous benefits such as; an annual subscription to Sales and Marketing Ideas magazine, Exclusive access to the Sales and Marketing Channel , discounts on MarketPlan Software, free use of NSMC library and many more member-only values.

Industry Recognition:
Every May, the Sales and Marketing Council sponsors an awards banquet in which local sales and marketing professionals are recognized for their talents and achievements. Awards are given in several categories such as sales person of the year, community of the year and many more. Entries are judged by a committee of out-state NAHB professionals.

Networking Opportunities:
Another value of SMC membership is networking opportunities. Because of our ongoing programs individuals have an opportunity to network with other sales and marketing professional. Members gain further insight and knowledge of industry trends on a local level.
